Calf Rearer – Block Calving Dairy Farm
Our Farm
We operate a mixed livestock farm across 350 acres of owned and tenanted land. Our enterprise includes a suckler herd and 140 autumn-calving Holstein cows averaging 8,000l, supplying Arla. The herd is milked twice daily through a 10/20 herringbone parlour. We are based near Kibworth/Fleckney.
The Role
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Calf Rearer to join our progressive block-calving dairy farm. You’ll play a key role in raising healthy calves from birth to weaning, with a strong focus on animal welfare and performance.
Key Responsibilities
· Feed calves and manage milk feeding systems.
· Ensure newborn calves receive quality colostrum.
· Carry out daily health checks and administer treatments.
· Maintain high standards of hygiene and biosecurity.
· Record calf health, treatments and growth.
· Assist with calvings and newborn calf care as needed.
· Support the wider farm team during quieter periods.
About You
· Livestock or dairy experience preferred but not essential.
· Passionate about animal welfare.
· Observant, reliable and hardworking.
· Able to work independently and as part of a team.
· Full UK driving licence.
