Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles to transport cars and commercial vehicles over short and long distances
- Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment, such as flatbeds or specialized trailers
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each journey to ensure safety standards are met
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during transportation activities
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and vehicle inspection records
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate schedules and delivery times
- Ensure the secure handling of all cargo, including proper fastening on flatbed trailers when necessary
Qualifications
- Valid HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) Class 1 driving license with up-to-date CPC certification
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly in vehicle delivery or transport roles
- Familiarity with flatbed trailer operations and securing loads securely
- Strong understanding of driving regulations, safety procedures, and road compliance standards
- Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshooting when needed
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to adhere to schedules under pressure
- Physical capability to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road
