Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced volumetric Concrete Mixer Driver Class 2 to operate and manage concrete mixer lorries on-site and across various locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering concrete efficiently, maintaining vehicle safety standards, and ensuring the smooth operation of all related tasks. A solid understanding of commercial driving, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with excavators will be advantageous in this role. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic construction environment, contributing to the timely completion of projects.
Responsibilities
- Operate concrete mixer lorries safely and efficiently, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle before and after shifts to ensure operational safety and compliance.
- Load and unload concrete at designated sites, ensuring accuracy in delivery quantities.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Assist with minor mechanical issues or troubleshooting as needed, utilising mechanical knowledge to identify potential problems.
- Collaborate with site managers and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules.
- Operate additional machinery such as excavators when required, demonstrating versatility in construction site operations.
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies during transportation duties.
Requirements
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating concrete mixers or similar commercial vehicles.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance or troubleshoot minor issues.
- Experience operating excavators is desirable but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage schedules effectively.
- Good communication skills to liaise with team members and site personnel.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating responsibility and punctuality.
- Physical fitness to handle lifting tasks and long periods of driving or standing during shifts.
Pay: £18.00-£22.00 per hour
