Job Opportunity: Junior Technical Account & Product Delivery Associate
Reports to: Director of Housing & Energy
Location: Hybrid, central Edinburgh HQ 3 days per week / 2 days home-working
Salary: £26,000 - £30,000, depending on experience
Type: Full-time
Overview
You would be joining Shared Works, Novoville’s innovative platform for retrofit projects. Shared Works is at the forefront of the fight to improve our homes and reduce their carbon emissions (20% of the UK total!). By building software for governments, contractors, and residents to collaborate effectively across the customer journey, we help the industry work smarter, make people’s homes more comfortable, and reduce their impact on the climate. Shared Works is supported by the Scottish Government, the European Union, and the UK Government. We presented Shared Works at COP26. We are partners of 10+ Scottish Councils, Birmingham City Council, and the West Midlands Combined Authority.
This is a brilliant entry point into the world of client management, product and delivery - ideal if you’re not yet sure which of these you want to specialise in, and would rather try a bit of everything. You’ll get hands-on exposure to client relationships, data, product thinking, and technical problem-solving, working closely with our product and engineering teams. No two days will look the same.
As our Junior Technical Account & Product Delivery Associate, you will support the client relationship from go-live onwards: helping manage accounts, getting hands-on with the platform, working with data, helping translate client needs into clear requirements, and testing new features and fixes before they reach our clients. You don’t need to be a developer or have prior experience - just curiosity about how software products work, a comfortable relationship with spreadsheets and detail, and a genuine enthusiasm for learning. We’ll teach you the rest, and there’s plenty of scope to grow into a broader role - whether that’s deeper into product, technical delivery, or client and commercial work, as you build your skills and confidence.
Responsibilities & Duties
-
Account support: Help manage the day-to-day relationship with a portfolio of clients - combined authorities, housing associations, and contractors. Support onboardings, check-ins, and reviews, and help keep clients informed and unblocked.
-
Platform configuration: Learn to set up and configure Shared Works for new clients, tailoring it to their workflows and programme structure.
-
Data support: Help with data imports and exports, support clients in keeping their data clean and accurate, and learn to help them get the most from it.
-
Technical support: Be an early point of contact for client queries. Learn to diagnose problems, tell the difference between user error, configuration, data, and product issues, and escalate clearly to the engineering team when needed.
-
Product input: Help gather feedback from clients and turn it into clear notes for the product team - workflow descriptions, issues, and suggestions. Bring the client’s perspective into internal product discussions.
-
Product delivery & testing: Work alongside our product and engineering colleagues to understand requirements, test tickets and new functionality, and help make sure releases work well for clients.
-
Training & documentation: Help deliver training sessions for client teams, and keep onboarding guides and materials up to date.
-
Commercial exposure: As you build product knowledge and client trust, you’ll get the chance to support demos, proposals, and new business activity - a great way to explore a future commercial path if that interests you.
