About the Role
Are you a reliable early riser with a sharp eye for cleanliness and a valid forklift licence? We are seeking a dependable Warehouse Cleaner & Forklift Operative to join our team. Fork Lift License required is for the Counter Balance
This is a vital dual role where your forklift skills are essential to our daily operations. Every morning, you will assist with some vehicle loading in the dispatch area. Throughout your shift, you will also use a counterbalance forklift to safely transport our large industrial waste bins to the council disposal facility located just 200 metres away. For the remainder of your time, you will take full ownership of our facility’s hygiene, ensuring the warehouse remains immaculate, safe, and fully compliant with BRC global standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Forklift Operations: Safely assist with morning vehicle loading in the dispatch area using a counterbalance forklift.
- Waste Management: Safely operate a counterbalance forklift on-site and externally to transport industrial waste bins to the council disposal facility 100m away.
- BRC Compliance: Execute planned cleaning schedules across all warehouse zones to meet strict BRC hygiene and safety standards.
- Inspections & Audits: Conduct routine facility checks, report maintenance defects, and meticulously update cleaning logs.
- Health & Safety: Ensure all working areas are organized, free of hazards, and compliant with warehouse regulations at all times.
Requirements
- Licence (Essential): Must hold a valid, accredited Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential for vehicle loading and the external transport of industrial bins).
- Compliance: Prior experience or an understanding of BRC standards, COSHH, or food-industry hygiene rules is highly desirable.
- Experience: Proven track record in warehouse operations, waste handling, or commercial/industrial cleaning.
- Reliability: Absolute punctuality is crucial to hit our sharp 4:00am start time.
- Attributes: High attention to detail, strong self-motivation, and the ability to work independently.
