We are seeking a committed GCSE English Literature Teacher to join our thriving English department. This is an exciting opportunity to help students achieve excellent GCSE outcomes while developing their confidence in literary analysis, essay writing, and critical thinking.
About the Role
You will deliver engaging and well-structured GCSE English Literature lessons, supporting students through all aspects of the specification including Shakespeare, poetry, modern prose, and 19th-century texts. You will play a key role in raising attainment through high-quality teaching, feedback, and targeted exam preparation (AQA).
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality GCSE English Literature lessons in line with exam board requirements
- Teach a range of literary texts across the GCSE AQA specification
- Track, assess, and support student progress to maximise attainment
- Develop students’ analytical writing, interpretation, and exam skills
- Provide effective revision, intervention, and exam preparation support
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and achievement-focused classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and resources
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge of GCSE English Literature (AQA)
- Proven ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities
- Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
- Commitment to high expectations and student success
