Do you have a passion for helping the local community?
Crest is a charity based in North Wales that helps individuals of all backgrounds take positive steps forward in their lives through the medium of re-use and recycling enterprises. Crest was established in 1998 to help disadvantaged individuals increase their skills and gain employment; this remains our core mission value.
Crest currently has 4 community retail stores in Llandudno, Llandudno Junction, Colwyn Bay and Rhyl, and a dedicated reuse and recycling hub in Llandudno Junction. We work extensively with local partners and the wider community to repurpose pre-loved electrical goods, furniture, household goods and clothing for retail back into the community for reuse.
Our extensive Volunteering Programme and Supported Ability Placement Scheme provide many opportunities for members of the community to gain work experience, develop new skills and contribute to their community. Furthermore we invest in our staff with ongoing career support and personal development/skills training. Crest is a close knit team with a family friendly work environment where no two days are the same; one thing is for sure – you will personally contribute positively to the fabric of your community.

Who we are looking for:
We’re looking for someone who enjoys retail, takes pride in their work and is happy to get stuck in wherever needed. You’ll help with the day-to-day running of the shop, support the Retail Supervisor and step in for them when they’re away.
A big part of the role will be sorting through donated items, deciding what can be sold and making sure we get the best value from every donation. You’ll also price, display and rotate stock, keep the shop well stocked and make sure it looks clean, tidy and welcoming.
We need someone who is friendly with customers and understands how good service and attractive displays can improve sales. You’ll support shop promotions, encourage Gift Aid and make sure till, cash-handling and administration procedures are followed correctly.
You’ll work closely with colleagues, volunteers, beneficiaries and people on work placements. This means being patient, approachable and able to give clear guidance and encouragement, helping people build their confidence.
The work can be physically demanding, as it involves moving and handling large amounts of stock. You’ll therefore need to be comfortable with this and willing to help with different tasks as they come up. Some flexibility will also be needed, as you may occasionally provide cover at another Crest shop or attend training and meetings.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone reliable, honest and positive who will represent Crest well, follow health and safety procedures, maintain confidentiality and help create a happy and welcoming place for customers, staff and volunteers.
