Support Worker – Young People’s Supported Accommodation (16–17)
Aleyah House Ltd is seeking a committed and compassionate Support Worker to join our supported accommodation service for young people aged 16–17 in Huddersfield.
Reporting to the Registered Service Manager, you will support young people to remain safe, develop independence and achieve positive outcomes through consistent, person-centred support.
Key Responsibilities
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of young people.
- Provide practical and emotional support tailored to individual needs and support plans.
- Support young people to develop independent living skills, including budgeting, cooking, appointments and accessing education or employment.
- Act as a key worker, completing support sessions, records, reports and required documentation.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and respond effectively to risks and concerns.
- Support the safe, welcoming and effective day-to-day operation of the accommodation.
- Work collaboratively with social workers, families and other professionals.
- Participate in supervision, training, team meetings and continuous professional development.
About You
Essential:
- Experience supporting young people or vulnerable individuals in a professional setting.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
- Good written, verbal and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check and safer recruitment checks.
Qualification:
A relevant Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People, or equivalent, is desirable. Applicants currently working towards an appropriate Level 3 qualification will also be considered.
