Use your clinical experience in a
non-clinical role where you’ll assess how a person’s health affects their ability to work. You’ll carry out
phone and face-to-face assessments, review medical evidence and write clear, objective reports for the
Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Your Salary Progression
£42,000 Starting salary
£43,000 After 12 months
Plus, you can earn
5% when approved and up to
10% annually based on quality and performance.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Conduct 5–6 shorter assessments per day via phone and face-to-face
- Assess how health conditions affect an individual's ability to work
- Review medical evidence and health questionnaires
- Use your clinical skills to assess functional ability
- Produce accurate, objective reports for the DWP
No Functional Assessment Experience? No Problem.
You’ll complete a
comprehensive 12-week training programme covering assessment techniques, DWP guidelines and professional report writing.
Who Can Apply?
We’re looking for:
- Registered Adult Nurses – Adult, Mental Health, Learning Disability or General
- Occupational Therapists – adult-focused
- Physiotherapists – adult-focused
- At least 1 year of recent post-registration experience in a relevant adult setting
- 1+ year of active professional registration
- Strong communication and assessment skills
- Good typing, report-writing and IT skills
- Full UK Right to Work – sponsorship is not available
