Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Waking Night Support Worker to provide essential care and support during overnight hours. In this role, you will ensure the safety, well-being, and comfort of individuals in a care home or home care setting. Responsibilities
- Monitor residents’ safety and well-being throughout the night, responding promptly to any emergencies or needs
- Conduct regular checks of the environment to ensure safety standards are maintained
- Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting or repositioning if required, always respecting individual dignity
- Maintain accurate records of overnight activities, incidents, and any changes in residents’ conditions
- Follow detailed care plans to deliver tailored support aligned with each individual’s needs
- Communicate effectively with daytime staff about any overnight developments or concerns
- Use IT systems to update records and document incidents efficiently and accurately
Experience
- Prior experience working in a care home or providing home care support is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills in English to interact clearly with residents, colleagues, and emergency services
- Ability to operate IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Valid driving license is advantageous for roles involving community or home visits
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow them precisely to ensure consistent support
- Demonstrated understanding of health and safety protocols during night shifts
