Job Title: Volunteer Partnerships Coordinator
Location: Remote (UK-wide) with occasional travel for key engagements
Commitment: 4–6 hours per week, flexible and volunteer-based
The Opportunity
CIC Doula UK is not a bystander in the maternity landscape,we are the standard-bearer. We do not ask for a seat at the table; we build the table. And now, we are calling on a strategic volunteer coordinator to take ownership of our most critical external function: partnerships.
This is not an administrative role. This is a leadership opportunity within a volunteer capacity. You will coordinate our partnerships strategy, drive the NHS maternity collaboration, and position Doula UK as the undisputed gold standard of doula support across the United Kingdom. The Mandate
Strategic Coordination & Vision
You will lead the coordination and execution of a bold, forward-thinking partnership strategy aligned with Doula UK’s core objectives. You will not merely react to opportunities,you will create them. You will sit at the leadership table, providing guidance, insight, and challenge to inform every major decision the organisation makes.
Partnership Development & Stewardship
You will take stewardship of our existing partnerships, nurturing them with precision and care, while relentlessly identifying and securing new collaborators. You will open doors with healthcare providers, third-sector organisations, and corporate allies, and you will ensure every relationship is maintained, measured, and maximised for impact.
The NHS Maternity Partnerships Project
This is your flagship initiative. You will initiate and drive a national engagement with the NHS, building bridges with midwives, healthcare providers, and trust leadership. You will advocate, persuasively and unapologetically,for the integration of doulas into the maternity pathway, fostering a culture of mutual respect and collaboration between our professions.
Building a National Movement
You will not do this alone. You will coordinate and empower a network of area representatives and volunteers across the UK, growing this initiative geographically. You will ensure these volunteers are not merely deployed, but developed,giving them an enriching, supported experience that compels them to stay and champion our cause.
Communication & Representation
You will be the voice of Doula UK in external forums, conferences, and high-level meetings. You will collaborate with our communications team to craft messaging that amplifies our partnerships, and you will serve as a trusted feedback channel for our membership, ensuring their voices shape our actions.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
You will monitor, evaluate, and report on all partnership activities, using data to inform strategy and drive relentless improvement. You will embed diversity, inclusion, and cultural sensitivity into every decision, every action, and every partnership you forge.
Who We Seek
We are looking for a volunteer of exceptional calibre. You will possess:
- Proven strategic relationship coordination experience, ideally in business development, acustomer success or account fundraising, or partnership leadership within a volunteer or community context.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, with the confidence to engage senior NHS staff, corporate leaders, and community stakeholders.
- A track record of coordinating and building volunteer networks, with the emotional intelligence to inspire and retain dedicated people.
- Unwavering commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural humility, demonstrated in your past work.
- The gravitas to represent Doula UK publicly, and the humility to listen, learn, and adapt.
