Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented MOT Tester / Mechanic to join our dynamic automotive team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough vehicle inspections, performing essential repairs, and ensuring vehicles meet safety and emissions standards. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive MOT (Ministry of Transport) tests to assess vehicle safety, emissions, and roadworthiness in accordance with legal standards
- Diagnose mechanical issues using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to identify necessary repairs or adjustments
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as brake repairs, tyre replacements, oil changes, and fluid top-ups
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to carry out repairs and servicing tasks
- Assist with heavy lifting of vehicle parts or components as needed, adhering to safety protocols
- Keep detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities for each vehicle
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company quality standards
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair and maintenance
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of routine tasks
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality standards
- Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose issues accurately and efficiently
- Valid certification or license for MOT testing (preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided)
- Prior experience working with diagnostic equipment is a plus

Pay: £26,493.49-£40,901.55 per year
