Reedbut Group designs and manufactures corrugated packaging. The business is situated in Milton Keynes having recently moved into a newly renovated building in Brinklow, and is one of the leading independent sheet plants in the UK. The company has an annual turnover of £20 million which is growing rapidly, currently employs circa 100 people and is well invested with further capital projects in progress.
The business operates in the rapidly growing corrugated packaging market and the materials the company work with have strong green credentials which play a leading role in the war against single use plastic.

Position: Team Leader
Reedbut Group has an exciting opportunity for an experienced team leader, managing a team which will be between 6 to 8 operators setting and running finishing machinery that manufactures cardboard boxes. The machinery include gluers, stitchers, taping, window patching and robotic carton assembly. Full training on the machinery will be provided. The role is 80% based on the factory floor and 20% office based administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure your team operates safely and adheres to all heath and safety practices, policies and procedures.
- Being the expert at running the machines on the your shift
- Achieve the daily production schedule within your area.
- Support other teams as required including covering other team leaders during periods of absenteeism or holidays.
- Develop and complete a training programme within your team to increase your team’s skills.
- Support your team with training, dealing with quality issues and problem jobs as required.
- Set and run machinery to support your team as required.
- Complete a comprehensive shift report for you area at the end of each shift and this should include:
- Productivity information with comments regarding excellent and/or poor productivity, comments on the cause of poor productivity and what actions are being taken to ensure productivity improves.
- Comments regarding any training undertaken.
- Comments regarding any quality issues and any action taken to resolve these issues.
- Comments regarding any maintenance or engineering issues with your area.
- Ensure these reports are discussed with your team in a positive and proactive manner at the start of each shift and in the weekly team meetings.
- Manage customer complaints that originate from within team including root cause analysis, plus identifying, and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Manage your team on a day-to-day basis including return to work interviews, team member reviews, daily and weekly team meetings.
- Ensure your team supports scheduled maintenance activities and look to develop operator maintenance as appropriate.
- Support the Central Operations Manager on continuous improvement activities.
- Complete any weekly stock checks for you area ensuring replacement stock is ordered if needed.
Key Skills:
- Prior management and leadership experience in a night shift working manufacturing environment.
- Good IT skills
Preferred skills:
- Experience of managing in a batch manufacturing business.
- Experience of corrugated manufacturing processes preferable but not essential e.g. gluing, stitching, taping and window patching
- Knowledge and experience of BRCGS Food certification standard (or equivalent).
Hours and location of Work:
- Weekly rotating shifts 6am to 2pm then 2pm to 10pm.
- Please be aware that there may be a requirement for the individual to work on a day shift for a period of training at the start of employment.
- Based at Bransworth Avenue, Brinklow, Milton Keynes MK10 0DD.
Holidays:
The basic annual leave entitlement is 20 working days. Additional holidays are based on length of service up to a maximum of 25 days.

· Salary up to £45,000 per annum dependant on experience.
