Our Project: B.E.S.T Project currently provide supported accommodation and residential children's homes in West Sussex, offering child focused and trauma-informed care and support. B.E.S.T Project are excited to announce the opening of its third children’s home, Willow House. Our new home will support up to 2 children aged 7 - 17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
· Develop strong, positive and meaningful relationships children;
· Create individualised strength-based plans and deliver focused interventions (our time sessions) based on the goals/needs of the children;
· Advocate for each child, ensuring their voices are heard and respected;
· Encourage and support children in their educational, training and employment goals;
· Facilitate and participate in hobbies, interests and recreational activities with children;
· Ensure the health and well-being of children by managing appointments and liaising with healthcare professionals;
· Promote and support the emotional and mental health of children through positive interactions and therapeutic practices;
· Create a child-centred approach that includes equality, rights, inclusion and listening to children’s wishes and feelings;
· Create and maintain an environment that is safe, secure, clean and homely;
· Promote the core values, trauma-informed approach, aims and objectives of the project;
· Uphold safeguarding and protection protocols, ensuring a safe environment for all children;
· Keeping accurate, timely and detailed records.
Key Requirements:
· A friendly, positive, empathetic, patient and non-judgmental attitude towards others and life in general;
· An excellent understanding of and commitment to safeguarding children;
· Good knowledge of Developmental Trauma and the impact this has on children;
· Confidence in managing behaviours that challenge and able to diffuse heightened situations;
· At least 2 years’ experience of working with children and/or young people;
· Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills;
· At least 22 years old.

Hours:
· Full-time, 3-week rolling rota pattern working 24.5 hours on, and 47.5 hours off, including sleep-in (e.g. Monday 09:30am – Tuesday 10:00am, off until Thursday 09:30)
