Surround Support Limited is a person-centred care provider based in North Somerset, supporting adults to live safe, fulfilling and independent lives within their own homes and communities.
We are currently recruiting Waking Night Support Workers to provide overnight support to a female service user with epilepsy, ensuring her safety, reassurance and wellbeing throughout the night.
About the Role
This is a waking night position, meaning you will remain awake and alert throughout the entire shift to provide monitoring, support and reassurance.
The role is based on a rolling rota pattern of 4 nights on, 4 nights off (9pm - 7am)
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring and supporting a female service user overnight, including management of seizures in line with care plans and protocols
- Responding calmly and appropriately to seizures or changes in presentation
- Providing reassurance and emotional support throughout the night
- Completing regular checks and maintaining a safe environment
- Carrying out light household duties to help maintain a clean, safe and habitable living environment (for example tidying, light cleaning and preparing for the morning)
- Completing accurate night notes, handovers and incident records
- Following safeguarding, health and safety and medication procedures at all times
- Working in line with person-centred care plans and risk assessments
Full training will be provided, including epilepsy awareness and emergency procedures.
Pay & Enhancements
Pay rates are dependent on experience.
Additional enhancements include:
- Weekend enhancement of £0.50 per hour
- Bank holiday pay at time and a half
Requirements
- Epilepsy experience is advantageous but not essential

- Right to work in the UK
- Must be in good health and physically able to carry out waking night duties safely, including remaining alert throughout the shift and responding appropriately in emergency situations
- Compassionate, calm and reliable approach
- Good communication and record-keeping skills
- Ability to work waking nights as part of a rota, including weekends

Pay: £14.00-£14.50 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
