Wanted: Barista for the Clifftop Café , Gallery Bouldering, Oxford
32+ hours | Weekend & evening shifts expected
Help us build one of Oxford’s best cafés. Clifftop Café sits at the heart of Gallery Bouldering, one of the UK's leading climbing centres. Every day hundreds of climbers walk through our doors, and we're on a mission to create a café that's as much a destination as the climbing itself.
We're looking for an experienced Barista who shares our ambition to deliver exceptional coffee, genuine hospitality and an outstanding customer experience. This would be the perfect role for an experienced barista who wants to take the next step towards management as there may be possibilities for promotion as the cafe revenue grows.
You'll be responsible for delivering consistently excellent service while helping us grow the café. That includes:
- Preparing high-quality espresso-based coffee with consistent latte art
- Delivering warm, friendly and professional customer service
- Preparing food, pizzas and other light meals
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Managing stock carefully and helping minimise waste
- Keeping the café clean, organised and ready for service
- Working efficiently during busy periods while maintaining quality
- Looking for opportunities to improve the customer experience
We're interested in attitude just as much as experience. You'll ideally have:
- Previous barista experience
- A genuine passion for hospitality
- Excellent communication skills
- Pride in your work
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A positive, can-do attitude
- Confidence working in a busy environment
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who understands that every customer interaction matters and who wants to help us grow the café.
Please send a brief letter & CV, demonstrating how you meet the criteria, to: [email protected]
