We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. As a vital part of our kitchen operation, the Sous Chef will assist in managing daily kitchen activities, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. Duties
- Assist in planning and preparing dishes that meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of food production
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, portion controls and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients in compliance with food safety regulations
- Enforce hygiene standards and maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen area
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their skills and knowledge
- Monitor food safety practices and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation
- Support the team during service hours by cooking and serving dishes when necessary and maintaining a positive work environment
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen setting
- Extensive culinary experience with a focus on food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality environments
- Previous restaurant experience demonstrating versatility across various cuisines
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and management
- Passionate about delivering outstanding customer service through high-quality food presentation and service standards
