We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Night Senior Carer to join our compassionate care team. Your primary focus will be ensuring the safety, well-being, and comfort of residents during the night shift, while providing guidance and supervision to junior staff. Duties
- Lead and supervise the night team to deliver exceptional care aligned with individual care plans.
- Monitor residents’ safety, health, and well-being throughout the night, responding promptly to any emergencies or concerns.
- Ensure accurate documentation of resident activities, medication administration, and incident reports using IT systems.
- Review and update care plans regularly in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior carers, fostering a positive team environment built on leadership and respect.
- Maintain a safe environment by conducting regular checks of the premises, including fire safety procedures and security protocols.
- Communicate effectively with day staff during handovers to ensure continuity of care and seamless support for residents.
- Support residents’ emotional needs through active listening, reassurance, and personalized engagement during overnight hours.
Experience
- Proven supervisory or leadership experience within a care home or senior care setting.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members.
- Experience in developing or following detailed care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Familiarity with IT systems used for documentation and care management is essential.
- Previous experience supervising staff during night shifts is highly desirable.
