Deputy Nursery Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to support the daily operations of our childcare centre. The successful candidate will assist in managing staff, ensuring high standards of childcare, and fostering a safe, nurturing environment for children. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in early childhood education and has previous supervisory experience .
Duties
- Assist the Nursery Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Support staff management, including supervising team members, organising rotas, and facilitating professional development.
- Contribute to creating a stimulating, safe, and inclusive environment for children aged from birth to five years.
- Engage with children through play and educational activities, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's progress and centre activities.
- Ensure health and safety policies are strictly followed and maintained across the nursery.
- Support the implementation of early childhood education programmes aligned with best practices.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records related to children's development, attendance, and staff schedules.
- Drive responsibilities may include transporting children safely to outings or activities as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience working within a nursery or early childhood education setting.
- Supervisory and leadership skills with previous supervisory experience preferred such as room leader experience..
- Knowledge of childcare regulations and health & safety standards.
- Ability to work effectively with children, staff, and parents in a professional manner.
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Early Years or equivalent are desirable.
- A caring attitude combined with organisational skills and attention to detail.
