Job Title: Maintenance Manager
Location: Hollybank Care Home, Shotton Lane, Shotton
Reports To: Home Manager / Directors
Job Purpose
To ensure Hollybank Care Home, its grounds, equipment and facilities are maintained to a safe, comfortable and high standard for residents, staff and visitors.
Main Responsibilities
- Carry out general day-to-day maintenance and repairs throughout the home.
- Complete routine and preventative maintenance checks and keep appropriate records.
- Identify and report any building, equipment or safety concerns promptly.
- Carry out basic repairs, decorating, plumbing, joinery and other maintenance tasks within your level of competence.
- Ensure residents' bedrooms, communal areas and external areas are maintained to a good standard.
- Support routine fire safety, water safety and health and safety checks as required.
- Ensure tools, equipment and maintenance materials are stored safely and securely.
- Arrange and liaise with qualified external contractors where specialist work is required.
- Ensure maintenance work is carried out safely and with minimal disruption to residents.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records.
- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues.
- Follow Hollybank's safeguarding, infection control, fire safety and health and safety procedures.
- Treat residents with dignity and respect and be mindful of their privacy when working within their rooms.
- Undertake any other reasonable maintenance-related duties required by the Home Manager or Directors.
Person Specification
The successful candidate should:
- Have previous general maintenance or property maintenance experience.
- Have good practical DIY and repair skills.
- Be reliable, organised and able to work independently.
- Have a good understanding of health and safety.
- Be able to recognise when work requires a qualified specialist contractor.
- Be respectful and comfortable working within a care home environment.
Previous experience working within a care home or similar environment would be advantageous.
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 per week
Work Location: In person
