Job description
We are looking for a fully qualified enthusiastic Commercial Vehicle Technician to join our existing team at an independently family run Iveco satellite dealership in Stockport.
As well as normal duties of working in a busy commercial vehicle workshop, repairing, diagnosing HGVs, and LCV's your day-to-day duties will in include; driver defects, preparing and taking for MOT, inspections, servicing and repairing, and manning of 24hour response callout to breakdowns and stranded vehicles in the Manchester M60 area. (On rota -Good rates of pay and callout fee on breakdowns out of business hours).
Must have City & Guilds level 2 or above NVQ level 3 in service and repair - You must have experience of HGV repair and maintenance. Drivers licence essential (Class 1 Category C+E license preferred, but not essential)
Iveco product experience would be preferred but not essential. Must be enthusiastic and willing to develop skills - Iveco have product courses and training available for further education and those wishing to improve product knowledge.
Competitive/negotiable rates for right person + weekly standby fee, time and half after 40 hours, double time after midnight. DIS benefit, Pension scheme.

Salary: £38,000.00 per year OTE £40k with overtime
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime Saturdays on rota

Responsibilities:
- Perform equipment repairs and maintenance, including mechanical and electrical components
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with vehicles and equipment
- Assemble and disassemble vehicle parts as needed
- Use hand tools and power tools to complete repairs and maintenance tasks
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure vehicles are in proper working condition
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and inspections
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer concerns and answering questions
Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical knowledge and experience working with vehicles or equipment
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively
- Knowledge of electrical systems is a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
