Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Groundsperson to join our team in Rosetta Retreat, Peebles. This role involves maintaining and enhancing outdoor landscapes, ensuring the grounds are safe, attractive, and well-kept. Duties
- Perform regular landscape maintenance including mowing, pruning, planting, and fertilising to ensure healthy growth and aesthetic appeal.
- Operate mechanical equipment such as excavators and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Use hand tools for planting, trimming, aerating, and other gardening activities.
- Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and repairs when necessary.
- Assist with construction projects related to landscape development or renovation.
- Conduct routine inspections of grounds to identify areas requiring attention or repair.
- Support general maintenance tasks including debris removal, soil conditioning, and pest control measures.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and stored after use.
Experience
- Previous experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems related to landscaping equipment such as excavators and irrigation systems.
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools and power tools for gardening or construction purposes.
- Basic understanding of construction principles related to outdoor environments.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while adhering to safety standards.
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure high-quality groundskeeping standards.
