Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Head Chef in managing daily food production, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and preparation of menu items, ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes.
- Supervise and support kitchen staff, including chefs and kitchen assistants, fostering a positive team environment.
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining efficiency and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with established recipes, presentation standards, and safety guidelines.
- Manage stock levels, order supplies as needed, and minimise waste to optimise kitchen operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times.
- Support the Head Chef in developing new menu ideas and culinary innovations.
- Serve as a role model for professionalism, hospitality, and culinary excellence within the team.
Experience
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Supervising experience is highly desirable, demonstrating leadership capabilities and team management skills.
- Extensive knowledge of food production techniques, food safety standards, and culinary practices.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Familiarity with restaurant operations including serving procedures and customer service principles.
- Previous experience in food safety compliance and managing kitchen hygiene standards is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
