Commercial Plumbing & Gas Engineer (Self-Employed Subcontractor)

Performech Ltd is a growing commercial plumbing and mechanical contractor delivering work across the retail, commercial and domestic sectors. Due to continued growth, we’re looking for an experienced self-employed Plumbing & Gas Engineer to join our trusted team.

The role
You’ll be carrying out a mixture of:
- Commercial plumbing installations
- Retail fit-out projects
- Commercial gas work (Occasionally)
- Domestic boiler installations (On residential side of business Leeds & Wakefield)
- Boiler servicing and repairs (If gas registered)
- General plumbing and maintenance
- Nationwide work (with accommodation provided where required)
Essential requirements
- Experienced plumber
- Gas Safe Registered (Will review good engineers without)
- Experience in both commercial and domestic work
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent workmanship and attention to detail
- Professional attitude and able to work independently
- Reliable, honest and customer focused
Desirable
- Commercial gas qualifications (We will accept good engineers without this)
- Unvented qualification
- CSCS card
- IPAF
- Experience working within retail environments

Travel is part of the role, as we carry out projects for retail and commercial clients across the UK. Most jobs involve travelling to site, completing the work and returning home the same day. Often multiple sites per day each paid as a new shift. Occasional overnight stays may be required for larger projects. Hotel arrangement depends on type of shift rate agreed initially.
We’re not looking for someone to simply turn up and do the minimum. We’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about the quality of their work, communicates well, solves problems and wants to be part of building something.
Needs to have a good understanding of systems and be able to work safely and appropriately in different environments.
