Founded in 2005, Kilchoman was the first new distillery to be built on Islay in over 124 years. Anthony Wills, Kilchoman Founder, set out to resurrect the grass roots tradition of farm distilling. Our 100% Islay range represents the revival of those traditions, standing alone as Islay’s only Single Farm Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
The role involves welcoming guests to our unique visitor centre, taking them on a tour of the distillery and familiarising them with our whisky production. Other duties in this role include;
- Use professional knowledge to answer questions from customers and to fulfil their expectations of the tour
- Lead tutored tastings
- Conduct tasting experiences at our whisky bar
- Respond to questions and offer help with any problems that arise
- Assist in the gift shop and help customers with their purchases
- Taking orders and serving food and beverages in our busy on-site cafe

- A passion for whisky
- Previous experience within a beverage serving environment is advantageous
- Confident with public speaking
- Fun and enthusiastic personality
- Reliable, adaptable and punctual
- Committed to constantly evolving their knowledge
- German/French speaker is desirable but not essential
Full training will be provided with the additional option of spending time gaining valuable insight into the process of making Islay’s only single farm single malt with our production team.
