Essential Requirements:
- Must hold Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years / Childcare (or working towards)
- Understanding of the EYFS and child development
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable:
- Paediatric First Aid Certificate
- Previous experience in an early years or nursery setting
The Role
As a member of our Qualified bank staff team, you will provide high quality care and learning experiences for children aged 0–5 years, working in line with our nursery policies, ethos, and the EYFS framework. You will step in to support our permanent team during staff absences, busy periods, or holidays ensuring consistency and quality of care for all children. This flexible role is ideal for those who wish to work around existing commitments while making a genuine difference in early years education.
Key Responsibilities
Children’s Care and Development
- Provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and developmental care.
- Support children’s learning through stimulating play and planned activities.
- Observe, assess, and record children’s progress, maintaining up-to-date learning journals.
- Adapt plans and resources to meet individual children’s needs and interests.
- Uphold a safe, caring, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued.
Parents and Carers
- Build positive, trusting relationships with parents and carers.
- Share regular updates on children’s progress, achievements, and wellbeing.
Teamwork and Operations
- Work collaboratively and flexibly with colleagues to ensure continuity of care.
- Contribute ideas, skills, and knowledge to enhance nursery practice.
- Participate in meetings, training, and inspections as required.

Pay: £12.55-£14.00 per hour
