Exceptional opportunity for a career focused vet to join this fantastic surgery a short commute from Bracknell.
My client is ideally looking for a 2–3-year qualified vet to work a 4 day full time week, spending 2 days at the main hospital and 2 days at a branch surgery. At the hospital you’ll get involved with a range of interesting cases (the practice is equipped with on-site MRI and CT). Working at the hospital will involve inpatient care, emergency care, and time on ops. The branch surgery is also a surgical site, and vets typically do spays, neuters, dentals, and non-complicated mass removal there.
There’s an opportunity to be mentored or shadow more experienced team members for your own development but equally my client would be happy with someone who’s looking to work independently. The surgery benefits from a wide range of equipment and an in-house laboratory. The current team work really well together, they’re collaborative and supportive of each other and they’re all very motivated individuals.
Vets Now cover out-of-hours on site, which is great for continued inpatient care. Vets handover to them at 9:30pm, so the team work a rota of early shifts and late shifts for handover, which would be no more than 1:9, although currently it’s fewer.
No Sundays or Bank holiday working, 1:3 Saturdays. My client can be flexible and will absolutely consider those candidates wishing to work part time and/or only work at the branch surgery.
The practice offers a generous benefits package to include competitive salary (around £40-45k for a vet with 2 years solid UK practice experience), 5 weeks' annual leave per year, plus bank holidays, private medical insurance and employee assistance programme, enhanced sick pay, fees paid, pension scheme, memberships paid, staff discounts.
