Local community-based role - Ashington
Hours: 5 hours every Saturday
Rate of Pay: £14.67
We are looking for a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Support Worker to join an established team providing 2:1 support for an 11-year-old boy with Autism.
This rewarding role focuses on enabling a young person to access and enjoy a range of age-appropriate leisure and social activities within the local community, helping him build confidence, independence, and life skills in a safe and supportive environment.
Main Duties:

Supporting access to leisure, recreational, and community activities

Encouraging social interaction and engagement with others
-
Assisting with communication and developing social skills

Providing support with personal care when required

Responding positively, calmly, and sensitively to changes in behaviour

Working collaboratively as part of an experienced support team to ensure the child's needs are met
Essential Requirements:
-
Experience of supporting children or young people with Autism and/or additional needs
-
A patient, understanding, and positive approach Confidence in managing and responding appropriately to behavioural changes

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance
