The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated Area Maintenance Technician to join our team.
In this role, responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and compliant day-to-day maintenance of multiple Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plants. This is a multi-skilled, hands-on role combining operational duties with planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure optimal plant performance and reliability.
Duties
Your tasks will include, but not limited to the following:
Operations
- Assist with operations when required if the site requires additional support and it’s appropriate to do so not to the detriment of the maintenance. Carry out daily operations of the AD plant as directed by the Site/Plant Manager.
Maintenance & Asset Management
- Conduct routine plant and site maintenance checks in accordance with site procedures.
- Plan and execute preventative maintenance activities.
- Respond promptly to unplanned maintenance and plant breakdowns.
- Support lifecycle asset management through monitoring and reporting equipment condition.
- Ensure critical spares are available and appropriately managed on site.
- Assist with repairs and servicing of plant equipment.
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)
- Ensure all site activities are carried out safely and in compliance with HSE standards.
- Work collaboratively to promote a strong safety culture across staff and contractors.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with the Site Manager to support effective O&M (Operations & Maintenance) delivery.
- Liaise with subcontractors (e.g., CHP genset maintenance providers) to coordinate servicing and repairs.
- Provide clear and accurate reporting on maintenance and operational activities.
- Support maintenance budgeting through accurate reporting and cost awareness.
On-Call & Flexibility
- Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota to support plant continuity.
- Travel to other company sites as required.
This is a full-time position and will involve working (45 hours per week), plus on call rota and flexibility for holiday cover.
Requirements
- Experience in plant operations, maintenance, or a similar industrial environment.
- Good Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices.
- Good record-keeping and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Pay: £50,000.00 per year
