Responsibilities:
- Plan, organise, and facilitate daily group activities and one-to-one sessions (e.g. arts & crafts, music, gentle exercise, games, reminiscence therapy, and festive events).
- Spend quality one-to-one time with residents who prefer individual interaction or may be bed-bound.
- Get to know our residents' personal backgrounds, life stories, and preferences to tailor activities appropriately.
- Coordinate special seasonal events, celebrations, and visits from external entertainers or community groups.
- Maintain records of activities and resident participation to track engagement and well-being.
- Collaborate closely with the care team and management to support residents’ holistic care.
- Ensure all activities are delivered safely and in line with home policies.
Requirements:
- Previous experience planning or coordinating activities in a care home, community, or similar setting is preferred.
- Passionate, creative, and energetic approach to supporting older people and individuals living with dementia.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
- Warm, patient, and encouraging personality with the ability to build strong rapport with residents and families.
- Ability to work independently to plan and deliver afternoon sessions.
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to undergo one).
