Thorburn Group is a well-established and growing business operating across the construction, structural steel, agricultural buildings and livestock handling sectors. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated CAD Technician to join our team based in Duns.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their design and technical skills while working on a wide range of exciting projects across Scotland and the North of England.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed CAD drawings for construction, structural steel and agricultural projects.
- Create fabrication and manufacturing drawings from design information.
- Prepare general arrangement drawings, sections and construction details.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers and workshop teams to ensure drawings meet project requirements.
- Assist with drawing revisions and project documentation.
- Maintain drawing registers and technical records.
- Support project delivery from initial concept through to completion.
What We're Looking For Essential Requirements
- Experience using TEKLA or similar CAD software.
- Good technical drawing skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience within construction, structural steel, agricultural buildings or engineering sectors.
- Knowledge of Tekla, SolidWorks or similar 3D modelling software.
- Understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
