Due to continued growth and service development, we are seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join our friendly and dedicated clinical team.
The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a respected training practice, working alongside experienced GPs, Advanced Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, Care Navigators and an established nursing team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering high standards of care, enjoys building long-term relationships with patients and is confident working autonomously within primary care.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality nursing services, supporting patients with long-term conditions, preventative healthcare and health promotion initiatives while contributing to the ongoing development of our services.
Essential Requirement
Applicants must have previous experience working as a Practice Nurse within a UK GP Practice. Applications from nurses without General Practice experience will not be considered.
Applicants must also have experience in:
- Chronic Disease Management
- Cervical Cytology (Smears)
- Childhood and Adult Immunisations
- Wound Care
- Venepuncture
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Deliver safe, effective and evidence-based nursing care.
- Manage and deliver chronic disease clinics in line with current guidelines and QOF requirements.
- Undertake cervical cytology screening.
- Administer childhood, adult and travel immunisations and vaccinations.
- Provide wound care, dressings and removal of sutures.
- Perform venepuncture and routine health assessments.
- Deliver health promotion and lifestyle advice.
- Support minor surgery and specialist clinics where required.
- Make appropriate referrals to primary, community and secondary care services.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records.
- Participate in clinical audit, infection prevention and quality improvement activities.
- Contribute towards achieving practice, PCN and contractual objectives.
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain current NMC registration and work within the NMC Code of Conduct.
- Participate in clinical supervision, training and continuing professional development.
- Support and contribute to clinical governance and safeguarding processes.
- Promote evidence-based practice and continuous service improvement.
- Participate in team meetings, audits and practice development initiatives.
- Assist with the review and implementation of policies, protocols and procedures where appropriate.
Person SpecificationEssential
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration.
- Previous experience working as a Practice Nurse within a UK GP Practice.
- Experience managing chronic disease clinics.
- Current cervical cytology experience.
- Experience delivering childhood and adult immunisations.
- Competence in wound care and venepuncture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good IT skills and confidence using clinical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to work across all three practice sites.
Desirable
- Experience using SystmOne.
- Experience using Ardens.
- Independent Prescriber qualification.
- Experience supporting students or mentoring colleagues.
- Experience reviewing or developing clinical policies and protocols.
- Participation in quality improvement and clinical audit projects.
