Job Summary
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Quality Manager to lead and develop our Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring compliance with quality and environmental standards while driving continuous improvement across the business.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be the appointed IMS Representative, responsible for maintaining and improving our Quality Management System and Environmental Management System. This is a key leadership position that will influence quality culture, customer satisfaction, operational performance, and business compliance.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and external certification bodies to ensure our systems remain effective, compliant, and customer focused.
Key Responsibilities
Quality & Integrated Management Systems
- Act as the company's appointed Integrated Management System (IMS) Representative.
- Establish, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality and Environmental Management Systems.
- Ensure the effective control, review, approval, and updating of all IMS documentation.
- Maintain records and evidence demonstrating compliance with company procedures and certification requirements.
- Monitor and report IMS performance to the General Manager, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Lead Management Review meetings and support the achievement of business quality objectives.
- Promote customer focus and quality awareness throughout the organisation.
- Liaise with external certification and assessment bodies regarding audits and compliance activities.
Audits, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and manage the internal audit programme.
- Support and coordinate customer, supplier, and third-party audits.
- Lead non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventative actions.
- Analyse quality data, performance metrics, and trends to identify improvement opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
- Ensure corrective and preventative actions are implemented, monitored, and reviewed for effectiveness.
Quality Operations
- Ensure products meet customer specifications and leave the factory in a safe and compliant condition.
- Monitor and report quality KPIs to support process performance and business improvement projects.
- Support operational teams in resolving quality-related issues and improving processes.
Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities
- Lead and support Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives within your area of responsibility.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Promote a positive safety culture and environmental awareness throughout the business.
People Management
You will have responsibility for the personnel working within your area, including:
- Recruitment and onboarding
- Training and development
- Performance management and appraisals
- Attendance monitoring and absenteeism management
- Employee engagement and morale
- Disciplinary processes where required
About You
The successful candidate will possess:
Essential
- Proven experience in a Quality Manager or Senior Quality role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO standards.
- Experience managing internal and external audits.
- Demonstrated success in driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience leading non-conformance investigations and corrective action processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence and engage colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
Desirable
- Electronics Experience
- Lead Auditor qualification.
- Experience with Integrated Management Systems covering Quality, Environmental, Medical and Aerospace standards.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience managing quality inspection teams.
