Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being in both care home and home care settings. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of care plans, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Working hours would be a mix of shifts 7am-14:00 or 14:00-20:00, all staff are required to work every other weekend.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility support.
- Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring that all aspects of care are delivered with dignity and respect.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to senior staff.
- Foster a positive environment by engaging with residents through conversation, activities, and companionship.
- Support the administration of medication as per care plans and under the guidance of qualified staff.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety within the living environment for all residents.
- Drive residents to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their comfort during transportation.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Strong communication skills in English are essential for effective interaction with residents and team members.
- Basic IT skills for documentation purposes and maintaining records.
- A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation of residents.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated when working independently.
