Role Overview
- We are looking for skilled and competent machinist with experience on vertical borers.
- Although not essential, experience in operating and setting manual machines and tools with an understanding of cutting speeds and feeds and of using 4 jaw chuck is desirable.
- Key Responsibilities
- Operating multiple Webster Bennett machines
- Use of measuring equipment and working to tolerances
- Operation of FLT’s
- Undertake daily housekeeping duties ensuring work areas are in a safe, clean and orderly manner
- Multi-tasking, workload and tasks
- Maintaining production records ensuring accuracy and clarity
- Reporting breakdowns to the Maintenance Department and follow up with supervisor minimising downtime
- Performing low level maintenance routines and inspections
- Liaising with other production departments
- Update company used system, PALS
Who We’re Looking For
- Experience in operating and setting manual machines and tools, including having an understanding of cutting speeds and feeds. General machine experience including turning, milling or boring (desirable)
- Experience of using 4 jaw chuck (desirable)
- Experience in heavy/medium manufacturing environment
- Knowledge and understanding of steps within a production process
- Ability to follow work instructions and independently work to safe working procedures
- Working to tolerances
- Forklift Truck licence (desirable)
Working Pattern
This is a full time role (Monday – Friday) working 3 shifts:
