Full Time Pub Cook / Chef
We are looking for a reliable and capable Cook or Chef to join our friendly country pub.
We are not looking to produce fine dining or overly complicated dishes. We simply want someone who can prepare and serve consistently good, home cooked pub food that our customers will enjoy.
This position would suit an experienced pub cook or chef who is comfortable working in a smaller kitchen and takes pride in producing good quality food to a consistent standard.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a traditional home cooked pub menu
- Ensure food is served consistently and presented to a good standard
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen safety standards
- Complete all required daily food safety checks and records
- Keep the kitchen clean, organised and compliant
- Monitor stock levels, place orders and help minimise waste
- Manage portion sizes and assist with controlling food costs
- Work closely with the front of house team during service
- Suggest new dishes, specials and seasonal menu ideas
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience working as a cook or chef in a pub, café, restaurant or similar kitchen
- The ability to prepare good quality, home cooked food
- A good understanding of food hygiene, allergens and kitchen safety
- A valid Level 2 Food Hygiene or Food Safety qualification
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently when required
- Someone who takes pride in keeping a clean and well managed kitchen
- Level 3 Food Hygiene would be beneficial but is not essential
Living Accommodation
Living accommodation is available if required. The cost can either be deducted from wages by agreement or paid separately. Full details can be discussed before employment begins.
