We're hiring: Activities Coordinator
Summer Programme – London (Oxford Street)
Rose of York English School London is looking for enthusiastic, responsible Activities Coordinators (AC) to lead our young learners on afternoon excursions across London – including visits to museums, Madame Tussauds, river cruises and other places of interest. A hands-on, safeguarding-first role at the heart of our students' summer experience.
A Typical Afternoon
- 1:00pm – Handover: take responsibility for your group as soon as morning lessons finish.
- 1:00–1:25pm – Supervise lunch, complete the activity risk assessment, and match names to faces.
- 1:25pm – Run a short induction: do's and don'ts, public transport rules, what to do if separated.
- Afternoon – Lead the group safely to and from the activity, with constant supervision and headcounts.
What You'll Be Doing
- Taking responsibility for a group of young learners (grouped by age, maturity and behaviour) each afternoon.
- Escorting students on public transport and on foot to museums, attractions and places of interest.
- Completing risk assessments and following our Summer School Excursion Procedures at all times.
- Maintaining accurate headcounts and responding correctly if a student becomes separated.
- Reporting incidents, concerns or safeguarding issues promptly to the Director of Studies.
What We're Looking For
- Experience supervising or leading groups of young people (education, youth work, camps, activities).
- A valid, up-to-date Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one before starting).
- Calm, confident and organised – able to follow procedures and think on your feet.
- Good working knowledge of London – attractions, museums and public transport.
- First Aid certification desirable but not essential (training can be provided).
Hours, Contract & How to Apply
- Afternoons, Monday to Friday, during the summer programme (approx. 1:00pm start). Fixed-term / seasonal, with possible ongoing work.
