Job Purpose
To provide a high-quality, customer-focused plumbing and multi-trade maintenance service across the organisation's housing stock and external customer properties. The role is responsible for carrying out installation, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment works while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, delivering value for money, and contributing to the organisation's commitment to excellent customer service.
- Carry out plumbing installation, maintenance, servicing, repair, and fault-finding work on hot and cold water systems.
- Undertake full bathroom refurbishment projects, including associated plumbing works.
- Deliver a range of multi-trade maintenance tasks, including basic joinery, plastering, tiling, and painting where required.
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently to agreed quality standards and timescales.
- Coordinate with colleagues, contractors, and other trades to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Manage van stock, materials, and supplies to minimise delays and maximise productivity.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and within agreed timescales, maintaining both manual and electronic records.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service delivery, and value for money, reporting suggestions to management.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Keep management informed of issues that may impact service delivery and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide cover for colleagues as required and participate in standby and emergency call-out rotas.
- Deliver excellent customer service and tailor services to meet individual customer needs.
- NVQ qualification in Plumbing or equivalent trade qualification.
- Qualification or certification relating to Unvented Hot Water Systems.
- Extensive post-qualification experience within the plumbing trade.
- Experience carrying out maintenance, servicing, repairs, and fault diagnosis on domestic plumbing systems.
- Experience delivering services within a customer-focused, target-driven environment.
- Demonstrable multi-trade experience, including areas such as joinery, plastering, tiling, and painting.
- Good understanding of current health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to use handheld devices and computerised systems for job recording and reporting.
- Ability to manage workloads effectively and work independently.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Experience working within social housing, property maintenance, or repairs services.
- Experience carrying out planned maintenance and refurbishment projects.
- Knowledge of housing maintenance regulations and compliance requirements.
