We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing assistance to our children and young people, ensuring their well-being and supporting their daily activities. Salary
*£31,900 per annum* (unqualified) based on 6 sleeps per month. (Salary: Starting unqualified at £26,500 per annum plus £75 per sleep-in on Full Time)
*Full-Time (40 hours) or Part-Time (20 hours) per week contract*
Shift work - working a two week rolling rota on average
For example:
- Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday
- Week 2 - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Responsibilities
- Provide support and assistance to children in various settings, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Communicate effectively with the children, families, and other professionals to understand individual needs and preferences.
- Assist in the development and implementation of personalised care plans tailored to each child's requirements.
- Engage children in activities that promote learning, social interaction, and emotional development.
- Drive to various locations as required for outings or appointments, ensuring safe transportation.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any significant changes in behaviour or condition.
- Collaborate with other support staff and professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Utilise IT skills for documentation and communication purposes.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children is highly desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with children and young people.
- A valid full manual driving licence is essential to facilitate transportation needs.
- Familiarity with creating and following care plans is an advantage.
- IT proficiency is necessary for maintaining records and using relevant software tools.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support others is crucial for success in this role.
- A good sense of humour and ability to keep up with the newest lingo!
