As a Warehouse Operative at SmithBrewer, You'll be responsible for the safe movement, storage and preparation of materials, components, finished products and equipment, helping to ensure that everything gets where it needs to be, when it needs to be.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in keeping things organised, works safely and carefully, and is happy to get stuck in and support the wider team.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Receiving, unloading and checking incoming deliveries.
- Safely loading and unloading vehicles.
- Picking, packing and preparing materials and finished goods for production, delivery and installation.
- Moving materials and products safely around the site.
- Storing materials and finished products in an organised and secure manner.
- Preparing project-specific materials, equipment and finished goods for dispatch.
- Assisting with loading vehicles and ensuring products are appropriately protected and secured.
- Supporting print, production and joinery teams by ensuring materials are available when required.
- Assisting site installation teams with the preparation and organisation of materials and equipment.
- Maintaining accurate stock records and carrying out regular stock checks.
- Identifying and reporting stock discrepancies, damaged goods or obsolete materials.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe warehouse and surrounding areas.
- Operating warehouse equipment safely and only when trained and authorised to do so.
- Following all company health & safety procedures, including manual handling and vehicle loading requirements.
- Supporting general site logistics and other reasonable operational duties as required.
About You

- Comfortable working as part of a team.
- Able to follow instructions while also using initiative when required.
- Physically capable of carrying out manual handling duties.
- Ideally experienced in a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing or similar operational environment.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
- Previous warehouse, logistics, manufacturing or similar operational experience.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow procedures and work safely.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable:
- Valid FLT licence and experience operating a forklift truck.
- Experience in a manufacturing or project-based environment.
- Experience using stock control or warehouse management systems.
- Experience loading commercial vehicles or preparing goods for delivery.
- Experience handling timber, sheet materials, joinery, retail fixtures or other manufactured products.
- Basic IT skills.
Don't have an FLT licence? That's not necessarily a problem. Training can be provided for the right candidate, subject to the requirements of the role and appropriate training and authorisation.
