Job Introduction

Job Title: Transport Contracts Monitoring Officer
Salary: £29,832 - £31,877 per annum
35 Hours per Week
Location: Warndon Depot, Pershore Lane, Worcester
Team: Contracts and Compliance Team
Permanent Contract

The Role:

We are looking for a committed and detail-focused Transport Monitoring Officer to support Worcestershire County Council in ensuring that transport services across the county are safe, reliable, and compliant.

This is a varied, field-based role where you will monitor contracted transport services, ensuring compliance with legislation and the council’s terms and conditions, while supporting continuous service improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake on-site monitoring of contracted transport services across Worcestershire
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and council standards
Assess contractor performance against specifications and contractual requirements
Record findings clearly and provide accurate, evidence-based reports
Investigate complaints, incidents, and non-compliance, recommending appropriate action
Work collaboratively with operators and internal teams to resolve issues and improve service delivery
Support contract management, audit, and performance monitoring activities
To support and assist with asset management and passenger transport timetable network

Essential Requirements

Experience in a compliance, monitoring, transport, or contract-related role
Strong observational and reporting skills
Good knowledge of relevant transport legislation (or willingness to learn)
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
