Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced automated gate, barrier and access control engineer to complete, Installation, Maintenance and Repairs at sites around London and the South East of the UK.
The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of gate and barrier equipment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise technical skills in a challenging environment, ensuring operational efficiency and safety standards are consistently met. An understanding of safety aspects of automated systems is a requirement. Additional training can be provided to the right candidate.
This is a full-time position with standard working hours of 7:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday. Overtime is not normally required, except in exceptional circumstances.
Duties
- Install new gate and barrier systems in accordance with technical specifications and safety requirements.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks to prevent equipment failure and optimise performance.
- Diagnose faults accurately and perform repairs efficiently to minimise downtime.
- Collaborate with other members of the team to ensure seamless integration of new installations.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections thoroughly.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations during all operational tasks.
- When required, assist in the planning and execution of upgrades or modifications to existing systems.
- Ensure that van stock is kept to the correct level.
- Ensure that company vehicle is kept on a roadworthy and clean condition.
Requirements
- Proven experience in installation, maintenance, or repair roles within industrial or commercial environments.
- Experience in groundwork, fabrication, electrical and finishing.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical and electronic systems.
- Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ in engineering or related disciplines would be an advantage.
- DHF and Gate Safe qualification an advantage but training can be provided to the right candidate.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues swiftly.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to provide training to junior staff members when required.
- A valid, clean UK driving licence is required for travel between sites.

Pay: £35,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
