A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Software Developer based at the NSG European Technical Centre, Lathom reporting to the Team Leader of the Intelligent Manufacturing Systems Team within the R&D Function. The IMS team develop software for Advanced Analytics, Manufacturing Execution, Production and Quality Control and for archiving and analysis of process and product data. The key functions of the role are the development, rollout, and support of our internal MES software platform.
The main responsibilities of the role are:

Understanding our manufacturing processes and working collaboratively with Manufacturing and other functions to deliver software solutions from start to finish, including specification, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and deployment.

Providing direct technical support and training for our business-critical R&D software applications, across all NSG manufacturing operations world-wide.

Supervision and mentoring of junior software developers.

Investigating new cutting-edge technologies, expanding knowledge, and prototyping ideas and features for side-projects.
What are we looking for?

Educated to degree level in a relevant subject.

Have several years of software development experience.

Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Be innovative and a good team player.

Have excellent attention to detail.

Have experience of C#, .Net, MS SQL Database Design, T-SQL, JavaScript/jQuery, React, Software Design Patterns, CI/CD, Python

MS SQL design, development, optimisation and troubleshooting.

Any experience of Data Science, ML, Bayesian methods, Gaussian Process and knowledge of probability and statistics will be beneficial.

The role will be mainly office based, some occasional travel will be expected, particularly for project work.
