RSG Fitness Club is looking for a friendly, reliable and confident coach to join our team in Pershore.
This is a part-time position leading between 5 and 10 coached sessions per week, with a minimum of 5 hours each week. Additional hours may also become available through staff holiday cover and as the gym and timetable continue to grow.
Shifts will be allocated through a monthly rota, so the days and times worked will change from week to week. The rota will include a mixture of early mornings, daytime sessions, afternoons, evenings and occasional Saturday mornings.
ABOUT RSG FITNESS CLUB
RSG Fitness Club isn’t an open gym or a large group exercise facility. We specialise in properly coached Small Group Personal Training, with a maximum of eight members in each session.
Our members range from complete beginners to experienced lifters, so every session needs to be welcoming, well organised and adapted to the people in front of you.
The programming will be provided. Your job is to bring it to life through great coaching.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Leading structured Small Group PT sessions
- Coaching occasional conditioning and team-based sessions
- Demonstrating movements and explaining them clearly
- Coaching safe technique and helping members train at the right intensity
- Scaling exercises around ability, confidence, injuries and limitations
- Keeping sessions organised, on time and flowing properly
- Creating a friendly environment where every member feels noticed and supported
- Setting up and resetting equipment around each session
- Using TeamUp and BoxMate to check bookings and view session programming
- Opening or closing the facility for assigned shifts once fully trained
- Communicating member concerns or important information to the head coach
- Providing additional holiday and class cover when available
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Level 3 Personal Training qualification
- A valid first aid qualification, or willingness to obtain one before starting
- Good knowledge of strength training and fundamental movement patterns
- Confidence coaching people of different abilities within the same session
- Friendly, approachable and able to build relationships with members
- Dependable, punctual and comfortable taking responsibility for a shift
- Able to give clear feedback without making beginners feel uncomfortable
- Able to work a rotating monthly rota
- Able to reliably travel to our gym in Pershore
Previous small-group coaching experience would be helpful, but it isn’t essential. We would consider a newly qualified coach with the right attitude, good training knowledge and a genuine willingness to learn.
We’re not looking for someone who simply starts the clock and counts reps. We want someone who watches people move, gives useful coaching and helps our members become stronger and more confident.
HOURS AND ROTA
You will be guaranteed at least 5 hours each week, normally working between 5 and 10 hours depending on the monthly rota.
Your shifts will change from week to week and will be issued as part of a monthly rota. Sessions may include:
- Weekday mornings, with some classes starting at 6am
- Weekday lunchtime sessions
- Weekday afternoons and evenings, with some classes finishing around 8pm
- Saturday mornings
You won’t necessarily need to be available for every session on the timetable, but you will need enough flexibility to work a reasonable mixture of shifts. Any regular commitments or times you cannot work should be clearly stated when applying.
Additional hours may occasionally be offered to cover staff holidays or other absences. There will also be the opportunity for the role and regular hours to grow as the gym expands and more sessions are added to the timetable.
