Root & Ember is a luxury food emporium in the heart of Clifton. We specialise in exceptional artisan food, hand-crafted hampers and our own range of cured and smoked meats, produced on-site. We are looking for an enthusiastic Retail & Creative Assistant to join our team.
This is a varied role combining customer service with creativity. As well as helping customers discover outstanding food and drink, you will play an important part in maintaining the beautiful presentation of our shop, creating eye-catching displays and contributing to our social media photography and visual content.
What you’ll do
- Welcome customers warmly and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Help customers choose products and recommend complementary items.
- Prepare high-quality coffee and other drinks (barista duties).
- Receive, replenish and present stock to the highest standards.
- Create attractive in-store and window displays.
- Help photograph products, hampers and seasonal displays for marketing and social media.
- Assist with keeping the shop clean, organised and beautifully presented.
- Work efficiently during busy periods whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team in day-to-day retail operations.
We’re looking for someone who
- Has a friendly, confident and professional manner.
- Enjoys talking to customers and delivering first-class service.
- Has an eye for design, colour and visual presentation.
- Has an interest in photography and creating attractive content.
- Is organised, reliable and takes pride in their work.
- Works well independently and as part of a close-knit team.
- Has good numeracy skills for handling transactions and stock.
- Speaks fluent English.
- Previous food retail, delicatessen or hospitality experience would be an advantage.
- Barista and Food Safety experience are desirable, although full training will be provided.
