Job Overview
The post holder will contribute to the delivery of efficient quality childcare services within Footprints Women's Centre.
Main Duties:
- Work as part of the childcare team within Footprints Daycare facility in providing a stimulating and quality learning environment for children.
- Identify support needs and refer vulnerable women to appropriate support services within Footprints Women's Centre.
- Play a full and participative role in children's mealtimes, breakfast, lunch and breaks.
- Ensure a good standard of hygiene at all times to include nappy changing, cleaning of equipment and rooms.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children in accordance with Child Protection and Safeguarding Policies.
- Implement a relevant play programme to meet individual children's needs in consultation with the Practice Leader.
- Keep up to date records in line with Footprints Childcare Policy and Procedures ensuring confidentiality at all times.
- Build positive relationships with parents/carers and maintain effective communication regarding children's learning, development and wellbeing.
- Participate in staff development and training as and when required.
- Undertake any other tasks and/or duties as may be reasonably be requested by Senior Management.
- Attend supervision on a monthly basis, team meetings and staff meetings as required.
Education / Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in either CCLD, Childcare, Early Years or equivalent
Experience:
- A minimum of 1 years' relevant experience working or on placement within a Daycare, Playgroup, Registered Afterschool's or Creche setting
Abilities, Skills & Knowledge:
- Ability to liaise with parents and understand the importance of parental involvement
- Knowledge of implementing policies, procedures and play programmes or similar
- Ability to lift children and equipment when required
- Knowledge of the ethos and values of Footprints Women's Centre
