Twyford Care Group is looking for experienced Mental Health Support Workers to join our growing supported living services across Derby.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with experience in mental health, supported living, social care, care work or recovery support who wants to help adults build independence, improve their wellbeing and achieve their personal goals.
You’ll provide person-centred support to adults with mental health needs, complex needs and other vulnerabilities within a supported living environment.
About the Role
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will support individuals with their day-to-day lives while promoting independence, dignity and recovery.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing practical, emotional and mental health support
- Supporting individuals with daily living skills and independent living
- Helping people develop confidence, routines and life skills
- Supporting access to GP appointments, mental health services and community activities
- Providing person-centred, recovery-focused support
- Supporting individuals with behaviours that may challenge
- Following individual support plans and risk management plans
- Maintaining accurate daily records and care documentation
- Promoting a safe, respectful and positive living environment
- Working alongside social workers, healthcare professionals and other support teams
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Minimum 1 year’s experience as a Support Worker, Mental Health Support Worker, Care Assistant or within social care
- Experience supporting adults with mental health needs and/or behaviours that may challenge
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A compassionate, patient and person-centred approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Business use Class 1 insurance on your vehicle
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health & Social Care
- Experience working in supported living or residential care
- Experience supporting people with complex needs
- Understanding of recovery-focused or trauma-informed approaches
- Previous experience within community mental health services
Shift Patterns
This is a full-time role with a rota covering 35+ hours per week, including weekends.
Available shifts include:
- Day shifts: 8:00am–6:00pm
- Long day shifts: 9:00am–9:00pm
- Night shifts: 6:00pm–8:00am
- Sleep-in shifts available
Flexibility to work across a rota, including weekends, is required.

Location
The role is based across our supported living services in Derby, including DE1 and DE24, with some travel between services where required.
Important Information
A full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle and valid Class 1 business insurance are essential requirements for this position.
Candidates will need to ensure that their vehicle insurance provides appropriate cover for business use (Class 1) when using their vehicle in connection with the role.
