Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Part Time Driver/Yard Person to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine driving responsibilities with yard management tasks. You will ensure timely delivery of materials and maintain yard organisation while supporting overall operational efficiency. Your energetic approach and excellent communication skills will help keep our operations running smoothly.
Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles for local deliveries and pickups, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Assist with loading and unloading of materials
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical soundness and report any issues promptly
- Check that loads are secure and within the vehicle’s permitted weight
- Keep the vehicle clean and roadworthy
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding delivery schedules, yard status, and operational updates
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the yard area, ensuring safe pathways and storage practices
- Support operational activities by moving parts or supplies, as needed within the facility
- Follow all safety protocols to create a secure working environment for yourself and colleagues
Experience
- Full, valid UK Category B driving licence
- No more than three current penalty points
- Suitable commercial-vehicle driving experience
- Safe driving record and responsible approach
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Physically able to assist with loading and unloading
A degree of flexibility will be required, as start times may vary but will be agreed in advance.
