We are seeking a motivated and detail‑driven Trainee Quantity Surveyor to support commercial and project delivery across a diverse portfolio of specialist construction sectors, including rainscreen cladding, facades, natural stone, tiling, and heritage/listed building works.
This is an excellent development role for someone looking to build a long term QS career, gaining hands on experience across multiple trades, procurement routes, and contract types.
Key Responsibilities
- Measurement & Take Offs
- Assist with accurate measurement of works from drawings, specifications, and site surveys across all specialist packages.
- Cost planning and budget control.
- Assist with project delivery and administration.
- Support the preparation of cost plans, budget estimates, and early stage commercial assessments.
- Procurement Support
- Help prepare enquiries, analyse subcontractor quotations, and assist in drafting procurement recommendations.
- Contribute to monthly valuations, payment applications, and financial reporting under various contract forms.
- Assist in recording, pricing, and tracking variations, including site‑driven changes and design developments.
- Support the administration of contracts, including issuing instructions, maintaining registers, and monitoring compliance.
- Attend site to gather information, verify progress, and understand installation methods across cladding, facades, stone, resin, tiling, and heritage works.
- Assist in preparing cost reports, cashflow forecasts, and project financial summaries.
- Help ensure works comply with specifications, technical standards, and heritage conservation requirements.
