Van Driver / Warehouse Operative
Due to continued growth and expansion, we are currently looking to recruit a reliable and experienced Van Driver / Warehouse Operative on a permanent basis, based at our warehouse in Market Harborough.
The role will primarily involve delivering industrial batteries and associated equipment to customers using a company van. When not carrying out deliveries, you will support the warehouse team with picking, packing, loading, unloading and general warehouse duties.
Criteria:
- Full UK driving licence essential over 25 years of age for insurance purposes.
- Previous van driving or multidrop delivery experience preferred.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling, as heavy lifting is involved.
- Reliable, punctual and dependable.
- Able to work on your own initiative and manage your time effectively.
- Flexible and adaptable, as delivery routes and requirements may change.
- Confident dealing with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Able to complete delivery paperwork accurately.
- Willing to support the warehouse team when required.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Deliver industrial batteries and associated products safely and efficiently to customers.
- Follow planned delivery routes while managing time effectively.
- Load and unload the company van, ensuring goods are secure and transported safely.
- Check goods against delivery paperwork before leaving the warehouse.
- Obtain proof of delivery and ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and returned to the office.
- Represent the company professionally when visiting customer premises.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects, damage or maintenance requirements immediately.
- Keep the company vehicle clean, tidy and presentable.
- Comply with all road traffic legislation and company driving policies.
- Support the warehouse team with general duties as required.
- Follow all manual handling and Health & Safety procedures.
